This Week’s Featured Pets – Melody and Harmony

Oct 31, 2022

Sweet sisters Melody and Harmony came to ARE Animal Rescue when three weeks old in December 2021, along with their abandoned mom and two brothers. All were sick with upper respiratory infection and infected eyes. While their mom and brothers recovered in foster care and were adopted, these girls drew the short straw. Their right eyeballs were bulging and eye sockets were bloody and heavily crusted over, too far gone to be saved by the time we received them.

They’re now 11 months old, grown up, and not able to run, play and act like the teens they are. Not because they’re incapable…they’re healthy, fun-loving girls…but because they’ve been confined for months in a kennel at our adoption center waiting for enucleation surgery (eyeball removal). That’s $5000 worth of surgery for two… no chump change. We have already raised a significant amount for them, but not nearly enough yet to fund the surgeries. Unfortunately, our medical funds continually are diverted to the many emergency cases coming through our door.

Their eye conditions had been stable and pain-free, but sadly, they’re now taking a turn for the worse. The sooner these girls have the surgery, the better all around for them.

Please help us help Melody and Harmony receive their surgeries ASAP by donating to our Angels Healing Angels Special Medical Fund. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

We use all donations to the fund exclusively for special medical cases. You may donate online at For more information, contact us at (951) 708-1280 or
